Madison Square Garden will open its Garden Terrace to 500 homeless felines as Adopt-A-Cat at the Garden gets underway. The public is invited - admission-free - to meet the adoption-ready pets seeking a better life. More than 20 local animal shelters, humane associations and rescue groups will make available and/or present the needy cats. Public hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (October 13) and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday (October 14).

Adopt-A-Cat at the Garden at the Garden is presented by CFA (the nonprofit Cat Fanciers' Association) and is co-sponsored by The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.

Members of the public who start the adoption process at Madison Square Garden will be gifted with a care package of feline goodies and one free ticket to CFA-Iams Cat Championship.

The adoption event is part of the October Celebration of Cats at Madison Square Garden, which includes the Adopt-A-Cat at the Garden on October 13th and 14th, as a public service, along with a New York favorite, CFA-Iams Cat Championship.

Both events are produced by CFA (the nonprofit Cat Fanciers' Association), the world's largest and most prestigious registry of pedigreed cats. For information, the public may call CFA toll free at 877-232-7469.

The Cat Fanciers' Association's 2007 Cat Show at Madison Square Garden will be the right place to look for love on Saturday and Sunday, October 13th & 14th when scores of the hippest cats in NYC will be available for interviews with prospective adopters.

The cats, who currently reside at over a dozen local animal shelters, humane associations and rescue groups will be there as guests of the Cat Fanciers' Association.  CFA is sponsoring the "Adopt-A-Cat at the Garden" at Madison Square Garden along with the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.

Featured among the cats of the many rescue groups will be the "exotic beauties" of NYC Siamese Rescue.
